The Technical University of Munich (TUM) invites applications for the position of
Professor
in » Sustainable Material Process Engineering «
W2 Tenure Track Assistant Professor (with tenure track to W3) or W3 Associate/Full Professor; to begin as soon as possible.

Scientific environment
The professorship will be assigned to the TUM Campus Straubing for Biotechnology and Sustainability (TUMCS) and will be integrated into the scientific environment of process engineering, bio-based material sciences, bioprocess engineering, as well as integrated in the interdisciplinary environment related to bioeconomy. Further opportunities for collaboration can be developed to working groups at the TUM School of Engineering and Design as well as the Munich Institute of Integrated Materials, Energy and Process Engineering (MEP).

Responsibilities
The responsibilities include research and teaching as well as the promotion of early-career scientists. We seek to appoint an expert in the research area of Sustainable Material Process Engineering with a focus on industrial manufacturing processes of different materials, the closing of cycles via technical recycling processes or material resource availability within a circular economy. Teaching responsibilities include courses in the university's bachelor and master programs, explicitly in the Technology of Biogenic Resources, Chemical Biotechnology and Biogenic Materials programs.

Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who have demonstrated excellent achievements in research and teaching in an internationally recognized scientific environment, relative to the relevant career level (please see for further information).
A university degree, preferably in engineering, and an outstanding doctoral degree or equivalent scientific qualification, as well as pedagogical aptitude, are prerequisites. Substantial research experience abroad is expected. Leadership experience, experience in industry as well as the proven ability to acquire and lead cooperative research projects are desired.
