The Department of Environmental Informatics is looking for a scientist specialising in data processing and scientific visualization of geoscientific data for Digital Twins
Data processing and scientific visualization of geoscientific data dealing with geothermal research or energy storage
Research and evaluation of suitable visualization methods as well as UI/UX design
Communication of research results to scientists, stakeholders or the public (this includes scientific articles and reports, but also evaluation studies, videos or interactive prototypes)

Excellent research infrastructure and research data management to optimally support your work
Competent support and advice for international colleagues arriving at the UFZ from the 'International Office'

University degree (Master) in a project-related field (computer science or engineering sciences)
Solid experience with Python, knowledge of libraries such as trame, PyVista, geopandas, GemGIS, or GemPy will be helpful
Experience with VTK or ParaView and extending ParaView using Python scripts
Experience with database interfaces, geo-databases and web services will be helpful
Being able to follow conversations in German
If you have experience with any of the following we’d like to hear about it, but all of these are very much secondary and not required for you to apply:
ArcGis, QGIS, etc.) Having experience with Unity and C# would be very welcome as we are also developing geographic environments using this technology.
Software to create geological models (e. g. GOCAD, Leapfrog, GMS, etc.),
