The University of Freiburg has been granted 19 Tenure-Track Professorships from the Tenure-Track Programme and now invites applications in the context of this programme for theTenure-Track Professorship for Theoretical Chemistry and Chemical Data Scienceat the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy in the Department of Physical Chemistry to be filled as soon as possible.This is a grade W1-professorship to which performance payments can be offered.This professorship is suitable for highly qualified early career researchers at an early stage in their careers.Conditions governing the appointment in accordance with section 51 (3) LHG apply. The appointment of the tenure-track professorship requires the eligibility of the appointed person in the Joint Federal Government-Länder Tenure-Track Programme for Junior Academics (https://www.tenuretrack.de). The appointment has to adhere to the requirements and deadlines of the Tenure-Track Programme.We are looking for an internationally recognized researcher in the field of theoretical chemistry with a focus on chemical data science. Possible fields of research are artificial intelligence, deep learning, scientific data analysis and visualization. Connection to existing collaborative projects is desired.The professorship is largely responsible for education in calculation methods in the bachelor chemistry and pharmacy. In addition, teaching in physical chemistry in bachelor and master courses is to be represented.Prerequisites for the employment are a university degree, an outstanding dissertation and an excellent publication record.This position is a fixed term of four years. After a successful interim evaluation, it will be extended by two years. Furthermore, the tenure procedure towards Full Professorship W3 will be initiated after successful interim evaluation.The tenure procedures are regulated in the Statutes and Quality Assurance Concept for Junior Professorships and Tenure-Track Professorships and agreed upon with the Ministry of Science (https://www.zuv.uni-freiburg.de/service/tenure).
